Babes in the wood 24

At last we got out again with the Babes. The penultimate session for this funding round. Still it rained, still they came with two new attendees appearing and lamenting the imminent end to the programme.

Following our drive to carry less, the trolley looked more svelte as I pulled it along the canal, knees rejoicing at the seeming lack of weight.

Today we were taken over by pirates! After hunting high and low for naturally occurring treasure which included, moss, leaves and a wiggly worm-on-a-stick, we had a walking story down to the river, past the stinking swamp, up the dangerous mountain, looking for a big X.

Under the big X was the treasure which was unearthed with gusto. Back at the camp we opened the box and doubloons of the chocolate variety were shared out. We snacked on grilled cheese on toast then made a pirate boat to sing songs in….well some of us did, others indulged in quite a bit of mud play!

Last session next week, much sadness but we will be back, fitter, leaner and ready to play in the woods.
